The Beginning...

I guess I've always enjoyed taking pictures but my real interest in photography began some 20+ years ago. This is when I was given my Canon AE-1. It was used but I absolutely loved it and taught myself to use it. However, life happened and I ended up putting my camera down.

It was a few short years later that I picked it back up and started playing around with it again. I just didn't have the time to seriously devote myself to my photography. I was learning with film and it could be expensive so I always played it safe with my shooting. I left the AE-1 behind and started using automatics but it wasn't the same. I transitioned to digital and I did have a couple of nice little point and shoots but I wanted more. It wasn't until spring 2009 that I was able to save up and buy my Canon 50D and a couple of lens. Ever since, I have been absorbing all I can through internet classes, friends, books or where ever I can find good information.

It's been a long journey for me but well worth the trip. I am still developing my own sense of style. For now, my pictures are leaning towards simple and true representation of what my eye and heart captured in the moment. I want that to be reflected in my work. My hope is that someone else will look at my work and cause them to pause and be able to feel what it was I captured in the moment.
